how common is wintrading/intentionally losing games?
|
i usually hover around 50lp master, but recently i've climbed a lot higher and i've noticed that in some of the games, someone (on my team or enemy team) is playing extremely poorly and doesn't look like they are playing in the elo that they should be in. i know that off games happen, (and i've been accused of wintrading in some of my games lol) but i was just curious as to how often someone is actually wintrading or just having off games? i'd also imagine it's more prevalent the higher elo you go.
imo usually people just use "wintrading" as slang for playing bad (for example see gryffinn's stream); it's only serious when there's a pattern in match history. It's also more likely if they play fiddlesticks+talon, or random different champs in general. And waaaaay more common at the end of the season, more of an October thing than April probably. |

yeah, i was also gonna ask about the fiddlesticks talon combo, is that like an op combo together or is it a specific duo playing fiddle and talon on many accounts? |

fidd/talon is prolly good together in general but some wintraders played it too, wouldn't read too much into seeing anything in April though I also feel like if 9/10 games you play well, it doesn't matter if your bad game is like terrible, especially if you're going to lose it anyways, going from a 94% loss to a 98% loss by sprinting it won't stop you from climbing in the grand scheme of things (obviously you can't do this often) |
