Sona gets much more value out of enchanter items than engage supports get out of theirs. Engage supports make picks off of pinks better and defend them better.

I've seen people say no pinks only works in high elo because of some sort of 5Head jungle tracking strategy, but no, it's really easy you just don't buy pinks don't even worry about it, there's nothing to it.

It's not always bad for enchanters to buy a pink, for instance if you back before the critical baron/dragon with a bit of leftover gold. But in general you win through scaling rather than picks.
